Promotion and Tenure
The University of Arizona Handbook for Appointed Personnel (UHAP) sets forth the official policy regarding the duties and responsibilities of faculty at The University of Arizona.
The guidelines for promotion and tenure UHAP 3.11 serves as a reference for the Dean's Advisory Committee (DAC) in the development of the College of Humanities' promotion and tenure standards in teaching, research, creative activity, service and outreach.
DAC develops procedures that are followed by all academic units in the college. Each department or program, in turn, develops local-level criteria that are appropriate to the disciplines of its faculty. COH faculty may obtain departmental information concerning the promotion and tenure process from their head or director.
The DAC overarching promotion and tenure documents are the COH Promotion and Tenure Criteria and the COH Promotion and Tenure Procedures.
