Southern Arizona Language Fair 2011

THE WINNERS FOR DRAMA, POETRY AND PROSE HAVE BEEN POSTED TO THE RIGHT!
The UA College of Humanities WELCOMES teachers, students and community to enjoy the annual competitions and multicultural entertainment of the 2011 Southern Arizona Language Fair.
The Southern Arizona Language Fair is a multi-dimensional, challenging, and fun experience for students, teachers and families.
To participate in any way, you are asked to read through the following general information, and then to access important other information to the menu left.
When: Saturday, April 2, 2011
9:00-9:50am Judges’ Orientation (sign-in begins at 8:30am)
10:00am-1:00pm Competitions
10:00am-1:00pm Multicultural Fair, Non-Competitive Entertainment, and Special Sessions for Parents and Teachers
10:00am-1:30pm Art Gallery
Where: University of Arizona Main Campus
Buildings: Pacheco Integrated Learning Center, Modern Languages, Education, Psychology
Plaza to east of Modern Languages
Registration is now closed. Note that teachers needed to “sign” a Pledge Form –indicating that all guidelines and regulations for the Fair are understood and accepted by participating teachers- before the registration process could begin.
The Southern Arizona Language Fair is unique in the nation for its variety and breadth of offerings. The College of Humanities continues to want to emphasize the importance of cultural and linguistic knowledge to Arizona students through this Fair experience. As important, is this on-going effort to raise the visibility of Arizona language teachers’ commitment and skill to the community and the state.
The College looks forward to working with you and your students and parents. The Fair is always an exciting day of spectacular competition, entertainment and discovery. The University of Arizona is proud to be hosting this unique celebration.
