COH 2017 Alumnus of the Year also receives UA Alumni Achievement Award

Dante Lauretta, a 1993 College of Humanities graduate who has captured global attention as principal investigator of the OSIRIS-REx asteroid mission, is this year's recipient of the UA's Alumni Achievement Award. 

Lauretta, who earned a Bachelor of Arts from the UA College of Humanities Department of East Asian Studies with an emphasis in Japanese, and also a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics from the UA College of Science, is the 2017 College of Humanities Alumnus of the Year. That award will be presented in October, while Lauretta will receive the university-wide honor at the 2017 Commencement ceremony on Friday.
