The College's own Professor David Pietz, with the East Asian Studies Department, has been appointed the UNESCO Chair in Environmental History. This position will allow Professor Pietz to lead a long-term research project examining the best practices of water resources management in an ever-changing world. Pietz will specifically focus on the "Water and Indigenous Peoples" project which studies how the environment, water, food and agriculture, and global health are impacted by water management.
