New Directors Named for CESL, NCI and WSIP

Dean Alain-Philippe Durand is very happy to announce Dr. Nick Ferdinandt, Dr. Sonia Colina, and Dr. Robert Côté as the next directors of the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL), the National Center for Interpretation (NCI), and the Writing Skills Improvement Program (WSIP) in the College of Humanities.

 

Dr. Ferdinandt has years of experience and is very active in professional associations in the field of English as a second language. Previously, he served as Associate Director of CESL and as Director of the Critical Languages Program. 

 

Dr. Colina is a renowned expert in Spanish phonology (Optimality Theory, syllable structure) and Translation Studies (translation pedagogy, translation quality and translation in health care). She is a founding member and President of the American Translation and Interpreting Studies Association (ATISA). Dr. Colina is also Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the department of Spanish and Portuguese.

 

Dr. Côté has extensive experience in administrative, instructional, and advisory positions in both domestic and international environments. Previously, Dr. Côté served as Assistant Director of WSIP and as Assistant Director of Student Success at CESL.
