What you should expect from your advisor:

• To create a safe and confidential environment that allows you to define and develop realistic goals
• To assist you in gaining decision-making skills and assuming responsibility for your educational plans and achievements.
• To understand and effectively communicate the curriculum, graduation requirements, and university and college policies and procedures
• To guide you in identifying and pursuing resources in other offices around campus

What advisors will expect from you:

• To schedule regular appointments with your advisor during each semester
• To come to appointments prepared with questions
• To follow through on suggested actions, resources, or referrals
• To accept responsibility for academic decisions and performances
