Border Studies Roundtable: an interdisciplinary graduate student discussion
with closing remarks by Dr. Javier Duran

When
5 to 6 a.m., Feb. 14, 2012

The concept of border and borderlands is being redefined by intellectuals across disciplines as changes in migration patterns and the global economy challenge the concept of nation. Now, more than ever, an inter-disciplinary discussion of the border is needed in order to comprehend its evolving nature.

We invite graduate students from various disciplines to come and participate in this discussion.

The roundtable will incorporate two primary questions.
    1. How does your research involve the border?
    2. How can we define border in a multidisciplinary way?

As we attempt to define the concept of border, we hope the discussion will give graduate students an opportunity to network and expand their understanding of border studies.
