Meet Meagan
Why did you choose to study the Humanities and/or your major?
I loved learning culture and language so I figured why not get credit for it!
What are the specific skills you’re developing in Humanities classes/programs?
Of course you get in depth knowledge on your specific sub set of humanities, but every humanities student also gets life skills that can help you in any setting. You learn to accept and appreciate other’s perspectives, you learn effective communication, and so so much more.
How has COH scholarship support impacted your education?
I studied abroad fully funded. I got to take summer classes to help me graduate early, and I get to graduate in less debt than the average college student, which in this economy is a MAJOR blessing.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
Grad school, then a PHD program, then teach! My ultimate goal is to share my knowledge and love with others.

What is ASUA?
The Associated Students of the University of Arizona (ASUA) senate is made up of elected representatives who serve a one-year term. Senators work on behalf of the student body to address key issues, gather feedback, and implement initiatives that improve student life. They are responsible for:
- Passing policies
- Supporting campus programs
- Ensuring student concerns are heard by the university administration
- Managing specific projects or areas of focus
