Get to Know Your Peers
Peer mentors are here to help new students transition to the University of Arizona as well as assisting all COH students with finding their Academic Advisor’s office, navigating campus resources and expectations, and connecting them with the right people to succeed. Peer mentors are role models who can help students get more involved on campus and also serve as a resource for any challenges they encounter.

Meet our Current Peer Mentors
Katelynn
Katelynn is a junior with a major in Applied Humanities that emphasizes Business Administration. She is working towards a minor in Finance and Spanish. She hopes to give back to the community by working in the non-profit industry. Her favorite part about being a peer mentor is interacting with the students, connecting with them, and setting them up for success in their future years at the University of Arizona. In her free time, she loves to go to the gym or thrift for a new outfit. She also enjoys trying new food spots with her family or friends. She is excited to see what the new year will bring and hopes to make more amazing memories throughout her college career!
Jazmin
Jazmin is a sophomore double-majoring in French and Italian with a minor in Political Science. She hopes to work in translation and travel the world after graduating. Wherever she goes, she wishes to continue improving her language abilities, which will lead to a greater understanding of other cultures. As a peer mentor, Jazmin is excited to assist students in finding opportunities, gaining confidence, and making the most of their time at the UofA. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning new languages, and listening to all kinds of music.
Dorian
Dorian is a sophomore at the University of Arizona, and is pursuing a major in Classics. They love to study modern and ancient languages, and hope to continue learning languages throughout their time at the University of Arizona. In their free time, they love to talk with friends, see live music, read, and explore the natural beauty that Tucson has to offer
Lillie
Lillie is currently a sophomore at the University of Arizona majoring in Applied Humanities with an emphasis in Business Administration. She plans to get a minor in both Spanish and Marketing. While she doesn’t necessarily know where she’ll end up, she knows the Humanities college at the UofA will get her there. This will be Lillie’s first year as a peer mentor, and she is so excited to join the team. Lillie has lived in Arizona her entire life with her family of seven, so she thrives in the sunshine and the chaos. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting for hours on end, watching old sitcoms, and reading books of varying genres. Lillie is eager to mentor and says, “Bear Down!!”
Ayzada
Ayzada is a World Literature major, a College of Humanities Peer Mentor, and a recipient of the Uzbekistan Presidential Scholarship, a fully funded scholarship that covers her educational and living expenses. She is excited to support incoming students, share her experiences, and help them feel comfortable and connected at the University of Arizona. She is especially passionate about literature, languages, and learning about different cultures. As an international student, she has learned how to adapt to a new academic environment, become more independent, and manage different responsibilities. Ayzada is also a poet, and some of her poetry has been published in Karakalpakstan magazines. She is especially interested in Uzbek, Karakalpak, and Kazakh literature. Her advice to first-year students is to ask questions, use university resources, and never be afraid to seek help.

Being a peer mentor is an excellent opportunity to build connections with the University community, including faculty, staff, and students. As a mentor, you will gain valuable interpersonal skills, deepen your understanding of the University, and acquire transferable skills that can be applied in various settings. Your interactions with incoming students will have a meaningful impact on their college experience. Furthermore, serving as a peer mentor offers the opportunity to earn internship credit.
