Family Days at the Poetry Center

When
3 to 6 a.m., Jan. 26, 2013

Family Days is a Saturday open house for youth of all ages and their families. Once a month, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the stacks of the Center’s world-renowned collection of poetry will be open to youth writing, multilingual story times, yoga, interactive writing, creative movement, and other poem-happenings designed to inspire youth and their families to explore the world around them with language.

Each Family Day features Poetry Joeys workshops for three age groups: infants, 4- to 6-year olds, and 7- to 10- year olds. We’ve also added a new program for children ages 11 and up called Book Club 11+, which features fun reading and writing activities based around a specific book. Participants need not have read the book prior to participation.
