The Tom Sanders Memorial Reading is an annual presentation in the Poetry Center's Reading and Lecture series. Established by the generosity of Tom's friends in 2017, this event features writers who were former students at the University of Arizona, writers who were formerly or currently members of the University of Arizona faculty, or University of Arizona Press authors.
We are proud to present Li-Young Lee, who will read from his work. After the reading, there will be a short Q&A and a book signing.
Li-Young Lee is the author of The Undressing (W. W. Norton, 2018); Behind My Eyes (W. W. Norton, 2008); Book of My Nights (BOA Editions, 2001), which won the 2002 William Carlos Williams Award; The City in Which I Love You (BOA Editions, 1990), which was the 1990 Lamont Poetry Selection; and Rose (BOA Editions, 1986), which won the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Poetry Award. He has been the recipient of many awards, including a Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets, a Lannan Literary Award, a Whiting Writer’s Award, and the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Award.
