Dr. Uta Larkey is an Associate Professor of German at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her PhD from the Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. In 2010 Dr. Larkey contributed as a Scholar-in-residence to the project Families, Children and the Holocaust at the Hadassah Brandeis Institute, at Brandeis University in Boston. In 2006 she received the David Baumgardt Fellowship Award, from the Leo Baeck Institute in New York City. In the spring 2013 Dr. Larkey was a Fellow-in-residence at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies. She was working there on her latest research project Narrating Horror: Language and Identity in Early Postwar German-Language Interviews and Testimonies. In 2011, Dr. Larkey’s book, Life and Loss in the Shadow of the Holocaust: A Jewish Family's Untold Story, was released by Cambridge University Press
