Registration Open for Fall 2018 Humanities Seminars

August 14th, 2018

The UA’s premier adult education series launches its 35th year with a slate of 10 fall classes that span topics from literature and art to hot-button Supreme Court issues to the complexity of the human brain.

Founded in 1984, the Humanities Seminars Program has enrolled more than 21,000 community members in 367 classes, in a wide range of subjects, taught by top University of Arizona professors.

The fall schedule continues the Humanities Seminars Program partnership with the Town of Oro Valley, which began hosting courses last summer in the town’s council chambers. All other courses meet in the Dorothy Rubel Room at the UA Poetry Center.

“The program offers a widespread choice of intriguing topics for the community to enjoy and excite the imagination,” said Karen Junghans, Chair of the Humanities Seminars Program Board. “There are few things more enriching than learning for the pleasure of learning, and when both the professor and the student feel that connection, it is very satisfying indeed.”

Registration for the 10 fall courses is now open. See full course descriptions and video previews here.
