Spring 2018 Call for Nominations

The College of Humanities is now accepting nominations for Spring 2018 awards.

NOMINATION DEADLINE: Friday, March 2, 2018

1) College of Humanities Distinguished Teaching Award

The Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes teaching excellence at all levels but the College places particular emphasis on teaching at the undergraduate level.
Eligibility: College of Humanities faculty members.

2) College of Humanities Distinguished Undergraduate Advising Mentoring Award

The Distinguished Undergraduate Advising/Mentoring Award recognizes a department or program faculty advisor for extensive and exceptional involvement in advising and mentoring students.
Eligibility: College of Humanities faculty members.

3) Outstanding GAT Award

Each year the UA Foundation and the College of Humanities jointly sponsor Outstanding Graduate Assistant in Teaching (GAT) Awards for graduate students that are graduating in May. GATs play a critical role in the University community. These individuals enhance the teaching capacities of the University and the undergraduate experience.
Eligibility: To be eligible, nominees: must be graduating in May 2016; must have had major responsibility for teaching a lecture course; must have completed at least one full term of teaching; must be in good academic standing.

4) Outstanding Senior Award

Every Fall and Spring semester, the University of Arizona Foundation and the College of Humanities jointly sponsor an award that recognizes one outstanding senior graduating from the College.

Eligibility: To be eligible, nominees must be undergraduates graduating at the end of the Spring semester 2016 in a major offered by the College of Humanities. Nominees must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.2. While enrolled at the UA, the nominee should have a record of outstanding academic achievement, a history of active citizenship on campus and/or in the local Tucson community, and a demonstrated capacity for leadership.
