Louise Catherine Taylor

2025-26 ASUA Senator for the College of Humanities

"As the representative for the College of Humanities in our student government, I hope to act as a bridge between our faculty and students, while also emphasizing the importance of humanities in our community."

Meet Louise

I am thrilled to be a member of ASUA on behalf of COH. I believe that having deep knowledge of the humanities is important for personal, professional, and academic development. My objective is to increase the breadth of the COH's outreach across campus and our community, as well as create new opportunities for research and professional development within the college.

My Initiatives
  • High School Outreach Program
With the assistance of COH faculty, I am providing a student perspective in presentations intended to be presented to local high school students. We aim to show students the value of humanities in life, school, and the career world.
  • Research Symposium
With the help of COH faculty, I hope to hold our first undergraduate and graduate Research Symposium! It is important to portray what the College of Humanities can bring to the table through a presentation of innovation from our students. This can be an opportunity for both undergraduates and graduates to get involved in their college and show off academic or personal projects relating to the humanities. It can also be a great stepping stone for those interested in pursuing research beyond the symposium.
