Two professors in the Department of Religious Studies and Classics have been promoted, demonstrating excellent performance in teaching, service and research.

Dr. Eleni Hasaki is promoted from tenured Associate Professor of Anthropology/Classics to tenured full Professor. 

Hasaki received her B.A. (summa cum laude) from the University of Athens, Greece and, as a Fulbright scholarship recipient, she continued her graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati where she received her Ph.D. in Classics. She is a Mediterranean archaeologist with publications on the craft technologies of Classical antiquity, the spatial organization of workshops and craft apprenticeship. She employs social network analysis of craft practitioners to trace innovation in communities of practice.

Dr. Phil Waddell is promoted from Assistant Professor to tenured Associate Professor.

Waddell specializes in Latin and Greek historiography, especially of the Roman Empire Roman, Greek history and Ancient Rhetoric. He received his Ph.D. in Classical Studies from the University of Missouri, his master's in Classics from the University of Missouri and his bachelor's in history from The Johns Hopkins University.
