Public and Applied Humanities Faculty Promoted

One faculty member in the Department of Public and Applied Humanities has been promoted, demonstrating excellent performance in teaching and service.

 

Stephanie Springer is promoted from Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer.

 

Springer is the Internship Director and a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Public & Applied Humanities. Since 2014, she has supported over 1,600 University of Arizona students as they searched for, secured, and completed internships, locally and globally. From 2014-2019, her faculty appointment was in the UA’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. In 2019, she joined the College of Humanities to develop the PAH career readiness and internship program. In addition to engaging students in career discovery through skill-building Applied Humanities core courses, Springer also enjoys teaching general education coursework. In 2022 and 2019, she was recognized as a finalist for the university-wide Margaret M. Briehl and Dennis T. Ray Five Star Faculty Award for her excellence in teaching and engagement with undergraduate students. Springer is a UA alumna, holding a master’s degree in public health and graduate certificates in college teaching and geographic information science.
