Dr. Todd Shepard presents a lecture drawn from his latest book Sex, France, and Arab Men, 1962-1979 (U of Chicago Press, 2017).

Shepard is the Arthur O. Lovejoy Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of Voices of Decolonization: A Brief History with Documents (St. Martin’s, 2014) and The Invention of Decolonization: The Algerian War and the Remaking of France (Cornell, 2006).
